Research Strategy

The British University in Egypt started its operation in September 2005.  During the first two years the whole university was geared towards the establishment of all systems relating to learning and teaching and research.  The university has commissioned itself to a research led education which necessitated the establishment of mechanisms and systems that would initiate encourage and enhance research involvement of academic staff.  Such systems and mechanisms allowed required research resources such as; electronic databases and high performance computing facilities, in addition to complementary research incentives, such as; tailored work load profiles and conference participation packages.

An optimistic research strategy was drafted as an integral component of the first university plan drafted in 2005.  An updated and more realistic strategic plan with a set of research objectives was developed in 2008 to cover the following three years up to 2011.  The link below refers to the latest research strategy in addition to a strategy update.  The update will establish the BUE research achievements over the past three years starting from January 2007 to the present date.  The document shall outline general progress in research activities over the past three years, emphasizing recent developments and finally exploring future plans.
